Illness/Missed Classes

If a student will be absent, it is the parent’s responsibility to inform the teacher either by phone or email. Please do not bring children to class day that have had fever, diarrhea, vomiting, or other contagious conditions in the previous 24 hours. For lice, we have a no-nit policy. If your child requires any medication, please keep it with you and administer it yourself, or allow them to bring it and take it themselves.

Teachers are not required to make up classes that your child may miss. Parents or students should request make-up work from the teacher and work at home to ensure they are caught up by the next class.

Attendance at class day is very important. Since students are only meeting with their teachers once per week, it is vitally important that they be there. Please, as a rule, do not schedule family vacations when a class day will be missed. Students should not miss more than 1 class day per semester, and this should be reserved for a sick day. Try to save family vacations for the weeks that we are off.
