Star Academy Class Day
Star will offer a hybrid learning system this fall. When possible, our physical science classes and theater/improv classes will be held on Tuesdays at Christ the King Lutheran Church, using the largest rooms. All other classes will be offered online. Please read the details of the plan, revised July 23, 2020, and review the revised schedule before registering.
Star Academy is a class day program that meets on Tuesdays from August through May in Northeast San Antonio, Texas serving home schooled students, grades 6 -12. We are looking forward to starting our 9th successful year. At Star Academy we offer once-per-week challenging core classes and electives - a full spectrum of offerings from which to choose. Parents can sign their students up for as many or as few classes as are needed. It’s not required to stay all day.
Our teachers exemplify integrity and character, and they will offer your student the best possible learning experience. Star Academy teachers are passionate about their subjects and bring that excitement to the classroom.
Star Academy classes are focused on preparation for college and will provide students with accountability to teachers and interaction with peers. Students should expect a rigorous academic classroom experience. We expect them to arrive to class on time, to be prepared with all needed materials, and with completed assigned homework. Students are expected to maintain a grade average of no less than 70% to remain enrolled in classes and are required to have internet access and access to a working printer.
If you have a student that has special needs, please discuss any learning difficulties with Star administration to see if we can accommodate those needs before registering.
This is a drop off arrangement where parents pay tutors a monthly fee.
Thank you for your interest in our program!
